Harlem Community Center Harlem Community Center Machesney Park, IL Machesney Park, IL Part-time Full-time Part-time Full-time $25 - $30 an hour $25 - $30 an hour 3 days ago 3 days ago 3 days ago Social Media/Marketing Specialist JOB DESCRIPTION Basic Function Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer the Social Media/Marketing Specialist will play a vital role in promoting our mission and initiatives through various social media platforms resulting in increased awareness of the organization and mission, engaged supporters, and promote community involvement.
Responsibilities Social Media Strategy Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
Identify target audiences and create content tailored to each demographic.
Create engaging, visually appealing, and shareable content, including graphics, videos, and written posts.
Generate content that showcases the organization's impact, events, success stories, and fundraising campaigns.
Maintain the organization's brand image and consistency.
Collaborate with team members to gather content and stories.
Work Environment Must be self-motived and organized individual that takes the initiative on day-to-day tasks and long-term projects.
This individual must be willing to learn and adapt to changes relatively quickly.
They must be able to commit long term to the Harlem Community Center as this role is expected to grow and develop.
This individual must be capable of consistently working within a leadership team.
Community Engagement Build and nurture an active and supportive online community around the organization's mission/ Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries on social media channels promptly and professionally.
Encourage user generated content and interaction.
Plan and execute marketing events and promotional activities.
Analytics and Reporting Track key performance metrics and provide regular reports on social media engagement, growth, and campaign success.
Use data insights to refine strategies and identify opportunities for improvement.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications Proven experience as a social media/ marketing professional Proven experience in managing social media platforms.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress Strong organizational skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong writing, editing, and visual content creation skills.
Proficiency in using social media management tools and analytics platforms.
General 20-30 hour/week position which will expand to 40 hours/week.
Must be available to work some weekends/evenings for special events and executive/ program activities.
Salary based on education and experience.
